Test test test

I took one of those online IQ tests the other day, and I was wondering how accurate they are. It was the Tickle Your Brain one.

Just out of curiosity, I'd be interested in knowing what my reader's IQ's are. I figure Harvey's to be a 'suffusion of yellow' ;-) (Bonus points for the reference!)

Oh and in case you're wondering, the test says that my IQ is 136. That appears to be just high enough for MENSA. So where's my application?

If you're allowed to use pen and paper (no I didn't use a scientific calculator either) this is what I scored. Based on your personal knowledge of me. You tell me whether or not this test is acurate. If I didn't screw up by not printing it first I give you the documentation.

Your IQ score is 135

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns.

I had to Google, but I found the answer to the "suffusion of yellow" mystery.

Heh. :-)

140. And since I'm pretty sure I didn't miss any, I suspect it's not particularly accurate in the higher ranges.

That, and 40 questions with some not particularly tricky answers is hardly a thorough examination. I figure a good IQ test would have at least 200 questions.

Has my blisteringly high IQ score stunned you into silence, or are you just pining for the fjords? :-)
