Just spent 2 minutes, 16 seconds laughing maniacally to a recording of "Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 Op. 46 (1876).
I like classical music.
It makes me happy... so very happy.
(I think I may need to add a pbpbpbty category soon...)
Posted by GEBIV at February 28, 2005 10:39 PMThere's a lot of bassoon in the Hall of the Mountain King. I've played it many times!! Still one of my favorites!
Posted by: Sissy at February 28, 2005 11:20 PMI love that piece. It always reminds me of my childhood and the Disney Halloween special where they had the demon coming out of the mountain and all the little demons dancing around him.
Posted by: Contagion at March 1, 2005 08:33 AMI think the Disney song is "Night on Bald Mountain".
That's a good one too.
Posted by: GEBIV at March 1, 2005 11:58 AMyou're right. There was some cartoon that used Hall of the Mountain King, because I have it on one of those "Disney Classic's CDs" They put classical songs they've used in their cartoons on it.
Posted by: contagion at March 2, 2005 11:32 AMCartoons were so much better when they used classical music for the soundtracks...and they were awesome when they used them as the plot.
Kill the Waaaaabbit!
